Today I've got letter from my local authority confirmed, that I've been awarded to A1 student Grant. I called them asking what does it mean and the lady said , that my contribution fee will be covered and I will be given 1200 e in installments during the academic year. I am very surprised, because I indicated in my application that I am holder of BTEA. I am afraid that could be some mistake, anyway I am very happy:)

Don't use the 1200, its either btea or the grant. They will claw it back sooner or later. Give them a ring to correct it, if not next year will be a major headache for you. Eg income for 2011 will include btea.

    Hi Sandra

You need to contact the council and tell them you are receiving BTEA and you need a fee only grant - you should not be receiving an A1 grant - you should be getting a fee grant only

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

hi folks, thanks for your advice... I went to Council and I told them that I'm BTEA holder...lady changed my grant to F1, so now everything is fine and correct. Anyway I'm very happy that I don't need to pay contribution fee, for somebody in receipt of social welfare is to hard...
