    Hey

Anybody worked in internal audit, if so, is it interesting and how does it differ from external audits

    Hi

Firstly I have never worked in internal audit (only external).

The work of the internal auditor would be to ensure that the internal controls of the organisation are working properly and are producing good information for management.

I suspect that you would spend a lot of time checking, testing and reporting to management. Similar methods to the external auditor but the objectives would be different.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks,

I have a pretty good idea what they do, been working in audit for a number of years, really just wondering if it is as boring as it sounds

Errr....didnt want to say it in case there were other internal audit guys around:)

Also if you are training there is a risk that you could get stuck in a specialised area where you may find it hard to move out of later.
