Headphones to plug into amp?

    Hi folks.

I'm considering picking up some headphones for my amp so as I can play without disturbing everyone in the house.

I've been playing for years but know that one thing that is "hampering" my playing as such, is playing quite/im more likely not to play because I'll wreck peoples head.

I know I'd play a hell of a lot more if I had a nice big set of headphones to play through.

I have a Marshall AVT150 amp if that makes a difference.

Would run of the mill headphones with a large jack be sufficient or is there special ones specifically for use with guitar amps.

    Muchas gracias! :D

closed headphones with a long cord will do, and you can get studio headphones if you really want... vic firth do sealed drum headphones that are quite good..

There aren't headphones specifically designed for amps (as far as I know) but what I would recommend is a set of cordless ones. I was in the same boat as you for a couple of years where I didn't want to disturb my housemates but I found that having to sit beside my computer or amp used to annoy me. Once I got a set of cordless headphones I was much happier. I'll update this thread with the headphones details later on once I'm at home.

Sennheiser RS130, using them for about 2 years. They are not closed back, excellent purchase for such a job. Seen a pair of RS120's on adverts recently for buttons!
