So you're in an Underground Car Park.

You drive down the ramp from -1 to -2

At the bottom of ramp two spaces to your Left theres an empty space.

The sign in the car park says you should only turn right.

    Do you:
    A. Turn right and go the whole way around
    or
    B. Turn left and park

I'm just wondering as we were chatting in work about it, some guy lost the head with me not becuase he was going to park there but because I had disobeyed the sign

If it's very quiet, I'll happily ignore the sign.

If it's relatively busy and by turning left I'm effectively "jumping the queue" for that space, I'd go around the correct way.

Depends on the car park and how busy it is.

In dundrum SC I always follow the path, but that's because I wouldn't drive the whole way down the wrong way and the the good spots are at the end :D

But in smaller/rampy carparks if the spot was relatively close to the ramp then I would take it (as Chris says, if it's not busy). As long as you're not going to cause chaos by blocking the whole place I think it's grand.

Turn right, but then reverse all the way the wrong way! :D

In my view, rules should exist only to make life safer, easier & more pleasant for people - they don't have any intrinsic value. In an empty carpark with good visibility i'll drive as close as possible to as the crow flies to get where i'm going.

As the brother in law says when it's a one way system "Sure I'm only going the one way!"

rules are made for the guidance of wise men and the obediance of fools..dunno who said that, not me anyway, im usually in the second category.

place was empty and wasn't going to be a hinderance to anyone i'd turn left. otherwise i'd go the correct way.

peeves me off major when some twat spots a space at the far end of a row and turns wrong way into row to drive down, when i am driving up the correct way (perhaps to leave) and they lay on the horn, shake the fists and get all indignant that i am in their way preventing them from getting to the space. fup off

All depends how far left it is and how busy it is. Otherwise - you snooze you loose noddy!

If the car park is quite, there are no rules.

If the car park is busy, follow all the rules.
