What's new in the Ankara-Tehran-Damascus triangle?

Turkey, NATO's only Muslim member state, was accused recently of helping Iran, its old rival and new friend, avoid sanctions. But now Ankara and Tehran are pitted against each other over Assad's crackdown...

Is this an opportunity for Turkey to slide away from Iran/Syria and back to the West?

Turkey also recently stopped a shipment of weapons marked as "auto-parts" that originated in Iran from going to Hezbollah

You have a very short topic list don't you?

This fella and his buddy Journalist 79 are simply hasbara propaganda spam bots/megaphone users. The site they keep linking to (and obfuscating the URL) is a biased propaganda mouthpiece for the Israel Project (in the domain whois details). A quick bit of Googling for Réalité EU sheds some light. They have little interest in decent discussion.

You don't even need to Google. Just go to the Realite EU website and there's nothing but Iran topics on it.

That said, on occasion he does point out the odd useful tidbit which may stimulate further discussion.

However, this thread is not it. The subject matter is a tad too geopolitical and not enough military.

[Mod]Longjourney, a couple of items for you.

    1) I do not appreciate 'hidden' URLs. If you're going to link to a website, link to the website. Don't try to hide it behind forwards and aliases. Two reasons. Firstly, a lot of people won't click on something when they have absolutely no clue what it is. This is sensible. Secondly, lay your cards on the table.

    2) You have issues with Iran. OK. We get it. You can set up an Iran thread for you to post up all your pieces of military-related information without spamming the military board. "Iran tests new laser-guided particle beam torpedo replacement" would be suitable for inclusion "Iran tests new torture device on detained protestors" is not suitable.

    3) Items which are not of direct relevance to those of us in uniform are going to be viewed with some suspiscion. Geo-political questions probably belong over in the politics forum, not the military forum. Exception, if there's a direct military angle, such as a report on joint exercises between Turkey and Iran.

I am not a fan of Iran. I am even less a fan of single-minded, advocacy postings on this forum.

    Closing this thread.
