This is not my car. Now doing as much as I can myself. Fitting what parts I can to the back wheel etc.. How much would a panel beater charge to fix this car? I know you would need to see how bad it is , but if it was only very little damage how much we looking ?

looks like a new rear quarter panel is needed really, look at the wrinkles across from the rear quarter window on the c pillar and across from the door handle too.

probably a new rear bumper and bumper bracket too.

and thats before you look at the jaunty angle the rear wheel is at

aside from the damage it still looks like a ragged example of a 7, i'd stay well clear. thousands to be spend putting that car right.

Yeah though as much myself, was thinking if it didn't cost to much to put right I might try make him and offer. That rear wheel looks like everything back there will need replacing. Wouldn't be too worried to be honest about that as I could get the parts. But I think by looking at it that there could be torn bolts and all sorts so I will give it a miss for the moment.

Do these cars have a problem with the back end kicking out? I have a 4 and have got parts from 7's and talking to owners there back of them seems to give trouble (or the owners give them trouble :) ).

    its a tough shout tbh.

maybe if you got the car for 2 or 3k it would be worthwhile, i can easily see the same again being spent on repairs.

big enough job fitting a new rear quarter which you must remember runs along the roofline all the way to the a pillar and to the bottom of the rear doors, then there's the rear bumper and lamp too. that's asuming the chassis is straight too.

and thats before you rule out any potential damage to the suspension and 4wd system.

they seem to be falling into the knob jockey price bracket now, so sh1tters are going to be more common i'd imagine, lots of lads think they know how to drive, hop into something like this and act the piss and the result is the advert u just posted.

Well, the tyre on the wheel that's fxked looks fairly bald from what I can see, probably something to do with it...

Bingo... The amount of issues that car could actually have underneath... chassis, driveshaft, wheel speed sensors, suspension, endless list really.

Dont walk, run, very very fast away. Find yourself a straight clean one tbh.

Lets look at what we know....

Anti lag.(it has probably seen more launches than Cape canaveral :D )

Running a good bit more than standard power wise.

    19" skobie wheels.

Crashed - with who knows how much unseen damage to axle/suspension/diff/chassis.

    To sum up ?

    Walk on by.

If that car could have been repaired at a reasonable price then it would have already been repaired imo. Wheel damage means the rear axel is bent and possibly the chassis too? Perhaps stolen & recovered or the driver just could not control a 400bhp car???

This is because they are in the most expensive group to insure, for a 27 year old man in dublin your talking well over €2K with a whopper excess.
That, coupled with a thirsty engine and the unfortunate skanger reputation they have makes Evo's nearly impossible to move.

Until things change in Ireland, I would NEVER buy another one. Which is a shame as they are a great car if they are looked after.

If you wanna buy something fast that is only half the price to insure go for a Nissan 350z.

    EDIT:
    Just read this:
