car insurance for test drive

    i'm planning to buy a cheap car privately soon but i'm not insured at the minute. What's the story, can i get insurance for a few days for test drives. I know the chances of accident or remote but....

    Just use the Driving Schools car, normally fairly cheap and their insurance covers you for test.

    I'm afraid the short answer is no. Do you know someone who could do the test drives for you? I know it's not ideal, but the only other option I can think of is for the seller to name you on their policy for the test drive.

    Quite a few garages will have limited insurance for drivers looking to test a car.
