Please Help with My Gaming Computer Build

This is my first time to build a computer so before I go spending money on products that I might not need, I'd appreciate some advice.

Here it is;

Antec 900 Ultimate Gaming Case
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 Video Card
Asus P6X58D-E Motherboard
Intel i7 950 3.06 GHz
OCZ Technology 60GB Vertex 2 SSD (For OS and programmes)
2 Samsung 1TB Spinpoint 7200RPM HDD's (For Storage)
Sony DVD-ROM 18X SATA
Corsair GS600 600W PSU
Plus Keyboard and mouse
Corsair Vengence (2x4GB) RAM

All this comes to just under 1000 euro.
I'm also looking into getting a Hanspree 22" LCD screen which has two HDMI ports, So one for the computer and one for my Xbox.
That brings the total upto about 1200 euro.
This is most definetly the most I'm willing to pay, if it is possible to pay less without compromising on preformance I'd really appreciate the help.

I'd disagree with most of the choices. Sandy Bridge is much better than the old sockets, the Antec 900 is an old case and OCZ SSDs have a fairly high failure rate. Also the GTX 460 is fairly weak for that sort of a budget. Something like this would be better:

This is a much better build, and allows for crossfired 6950s if you want to boost your gaming later on.

Just to add though the i7 is actually sandybridge, its actual name is i7-2600K.

Two different processors even if it was sandybridge you picked the wrong motherboard (1366) anyway

The P6X58D-E is LGA 1155. They wouldnt be sold as a bundle if they weren't compatible.

its an lga 1366 board and is compatible with Intel i7 950 3.06 GHz however neither are sandy bridge which is what the other posters were saying to you.

Intel i7 950 3.06 GHz is not i7-2600K

The Asus P6X58D-E motherboard is socket LGA 1366.

It's 1366. The X58 chipset is LGA 1366.

deconduo's build has sound choices all around. I think that is the best starting place. If you want lots of storage though, I'd switch one of the 1TB F3s for a 2TB green drive.
