An advert on tonights prime time will look at the jobbridge scheme-
    prog starts at 9.35pm.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/primetime/
The Government JobBridge scheme was launched in July with the aim of giving people a foot on the employment ladder. Through JobBridge, employers can take on unemployed people (at no cost) as interns. For their part, interns are supposed to get 'real world experience' in roles relevant to their qualifications and employment background, plus a small increase in their social welfare payments. There is to be no photocopying, tea making or use of interns as free labour to displace real jobs.

Edel McAllister examines what has happened since the scheme was introduced; will it pass it's probation period? And what of those who don't, can't or won't avail of the schemes and courses available. Was our Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton right when she said social welfare can be a lifestyle choice? Former policy director of the now defect Progressive Democrats, Stephen O'Byrnes (currently with MKC Communications) and John Stewert of the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed will join us in studio to discuss.

    Yeah right

Wasn't the WPP the same and now Supervalu are hiring shop assistants on it

FÁS/Solas are clowns and while the scheme might have good intentions, they can't manage it and it'll be abused

I watched it in the hope they might expose some fraudsters but all they stated was the glaringly obvious.

Quote "It needs to be policed" - Ya think?

I really hope it exposes the utter shambles that this scheme is.

In reality, itll probably do nothing of the sort.

On one side you had a man saying people wanted to work and on the other you had another saying they are workshy. Cue useless debate over employment figures...
