Yeah I have my in a week I think, I was wonering about what could they ask in it? Could I not get a course for not having 5 passes in my LC, or does it depend on a college you applied for?

Whether you need 5 LC passes depends on the college, you will have to check the website or the information they have sent out.

As to the interview, relax, they are usually friendly affairs and no-one wants to try and catch you out. Arrive a few minutes before the interview time.

Look tidy, you are not usually expected to wear a suit but you should be clean and tidy and look as though you have made an effort.

Make sure you have all the documentation you have been asked for. If you are asked for LC results, take a photocopy as well as the original.

Do a bit of research on the course, know what it is about, what subjects are involved, think about why you want to do it.

Be prepared to discuss your particular interests in leisure activities.

If you are asked about work experience mention anything you have done including part time jobs, working for family members, and school work experience.

    Good luck!

What do you know about the course modules?
    What is your career plan?
Do you want to to go on to 3rd level?
Why did you pick those subjects for your leaving cert?
What does a person in your chosen career do everyday in their job?
Do you have any relevant work experience?
How can you convince us that you wont drop out before the end of the course?

Basically they will want you to prove that you know what you're signing up for, that you have the ability to be successful in the course academically, that you have a realistic impression of the career and a clearly planned career plan and that you're not going to waste a place by being a drop out!
