    Hi all

Currently been on JSB for approx 9 months and have the chance of a part-time job, working just the 1 day a week. I was wondering how this would affect my payment and would it help me re-qualify for jsb after my 312 days are up.

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers!!

What day of the week will you be working... if its Sunday it wont affect your jsb payment. If it is any other day it will. I am going to presume that your on €188 jsb so therefore one sixth of your jsb will be deducted €31 approx from your €188. It probably will let you requalify but in view of the fact that you will have 1 days work you will have no sub loss and will have to apply for jobseekers allowance, which you would have to do when your jsb runs out. When applying for jsa your means from employment will be assessed. The benefit of working even one day a weeks means that you wont have to sign on every month and your will receive your payment by cheque plus when you are in employment its easier to get another job.
