No I wouldn't and they are the great British drivers that we so often look up to. Why?

He is right, but I am surprised he didn't get a slap for himself.

I wouldn't, but to be fair, the hard shoulder is generally empty when there's a crash on a motorway in Ireland. I feel he did a good service by doing that, arseholes deserve the 6 points they're going to get.

What? The British are terrible drivers, they're rude, agressive and love to tailgate.

And do you think its right ?
I don't know whether I would, but hats off to him for doing it.
He is right, but I am surprised he didn't get a slap for himself.
He knew that was a possibility himself, but he went ahead anyway - that's the bit I respect.

Which makes them exactly the same as most Irish people.

    Wow.

Well fair dues to him but I've a feeling he could himself get punished for leaving his car (of course if he was passenger then not). I also reckon there might be an issue with recording people without their permission but not sure about that one in a situation like this.

He's dead right. Too many people are are quiet when people do the wrong thing which in turn emboldens the arseholes.

Never seen people in Ireland sitting in the hardshoulder on our motorways. Maybe it has happened, but Ive never seen it.

theres loads of terrible drivers in the UK, but there is a much higher percentage of bad drivers in Ireland. The majority of UK drivers are highly proficent.

I have seen it once at the end of the M20 in Limerick. The cops had a checkpoint at the end of the motorway on the Adare side (very bright:confused:) and people were using it to get through the tailback.

I dont think the guy in the video was wrong especially when the traffic was grounded to a halt. I was stopped on the M4 outside London one night for 5 hours as the road was closed. I seen a WX reg camper van a few vehicles back and I rambled over for a chat. I got tea and choclate bikys..:)

I laughed at the lady at 3:59 she looked like she just woke up!

Still though, we park helicopters on our roads...

try the N7 on a Friday when there's been a crash, particularly around Citywest

Where did I say Irish people are great drivers?

Irish people are more polite, less agressive and tailgate less than british drivers. Not a lot better, but in my experience better.

Now that's one thing the Brits are miles better at than the Irish: driving in the correct lane. I'll give them that.

I have witnessed this many times on Irish roads.
One thing is to be greedy and use the hard shoulder to try get ahead of the traffic, but it is not even at sensible speeds. Car will speed up bus lanes and hard shoulders, driving way beyond what is necessary only to come to an abrupt halt as there is nowhere to go beyond.
Just point a video camera at any major road in Dublin, after a little while you will see this performance going on.

Not at all. I've never driven in a country where overtakers are as quick to return to the driving lane.

The M50 used to be crawling with people cutting up the hard shoulder at rush hour before the upgrade. Could be more symptomatic of a chronically overcapacity motorway than the competency of driver.

Actually now that I think of it I remember years back on the N3 coming into Blanchardstown. Bad traffic. Loads of people were shooting up the hard shoulder to beat the traffic. It was annoying. Very annoying. Anyhow like 10 mins later I got to junction to see a motor bike cop who had been hiding and catching every last one of them. AHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Only time I saw similar was Southbound on the M1 when there was a car on its roof and the whole carriageway was closed. Could kind of understand it though, it was from just North of the Airport junction and during roadworks so the hard shoulder was inconsistent at best.
