Well :) I know it's a way off yet but I'd like to get started on my Personal Statement.
Trouble is I haven't got a clue where to start! Could anyone just give me few pointers on how to lay out my personal statement?
Any tips would be much appreciated! :D
    Thank you!

You're smart getting started on it early. Go to thestudentroom.co.uk, to the Personal statements section, they have a library of statements for different courses people have submitted that are critiqued and have ratings. You can read over to get an idea, and can even post your own to get feedback.

Since you have a lot of time, if you know what course you want, think about what you can do now in terms of courses, activities, volunteer work, books you can read, or people you can talk to, that you can namedrop, and brag about in your statement.

Keep it very concise, you will probably spend a lot of time editing it down. It's personal, but don't make it too personal, talking about how you had a hard life, or some other sob story.

When I was writing mine, I didn't worry about the layout at the start. I just started writing paragraphs, and getting down whatever points I wanted to get across, and then pieced parts together and edited it at the end. Good luck.
