Hi all, I'm looking for a contractor to deal with a damp issue I have in my garage. I want a certified job so I'm not interested in a general builders uncertified job as I've already had an uncertified builder (now out of business) "fix" the issue 6 years ago but it never worked.

I can't get anyone in the Damp store to look at it, it must be too small a job for them, I've called 5 times at this stage and received nothing back, I understand that they must be dealing with bigger issues than my garage but i need an option please if anyone has one. I received an option on the DIY forum for a UK contractor, but it's not worth bringing someone from the UK over to address a small issue.

there has to be other options.

    thank you.

I've just been looking into damp proofing over the last couple of days. I have 300mm thick solid (no cavity) external walls which I will be insulating externally. The walls have no DPC so I want to get them sorted before putting the insulation on. Ive been looking over some threads on boards and further a field for a bit of info.

Guess the two options to go with are Electro Osmosis or Damp Proof Injection. I've no idea of cost of injection but used one of the online contractor quote websites this evening to hopefully make contact with some installers in Donegal. Read somewhere that Electro Osmosis costs something in the region of €35 per metre.

Has anyone on here have experience with either methods or have them done to their property? Also read that they might not be 100% effective but this may just be down to who ever installs them. Any opinions on the subject would be appreciated.

I have personal experience of damp proof injected dpc & internal plastered tanking systems. Both work great. I can help on prices as it was almost 10 years ago.
