iPhoto version issue?

Grateful for any advice here, I can't find an answer online.

Basically, I have a 2009 Macbook with iPhoto 8. In order to allow us both to see our picture archives, I have moved the iphoto archive to time capsule.

Now, pressing option when launching iPhoto allows me to navigate to the archive on the TC and open it no problem.

But when I try to do the same with my wife's 2006 macbook pro with iPhoto 6 the archive is greyed out and I cannot select it.

I have gone into permissions on the archive and it's read, write edit for everyone so I presume it's not an access issue.

Could it be that my wife's older version of iPhoto is the problem? I've been thinking of upgrading her to Snow Leopard like my macbook anyway but this might hasten it.

    Cheers,
    Quad
