Engine and new car advice appreciated

I have a 1.8d Ford but find that I am doing very low milage (5,000km p/a) and am thinking of upgrading. I am guessing that the engine size that would suit should be smaller like a 1.6 or does it make any real difference? I wonder if such low milage can cause problems down the line for my current car.

Thinking about a 1.6 Focus fleet car and trading in my 08 D 1.8d Focus Ghia. Off hand I wonder what I can expect to pay to upgrade to the new Focus? Hopefully I will get to a few garages this weekend and get an idea of what is out there.
    Thanks

Out of interest, why do you want to change cars? At 5000km pa, your current car will most likely last you a very long time.

Good point. I have had a lot of trouble with a fuel injector which has cost me plenty as the car was just out of warranty and parts and labour were not covered. I'm still not convinced that it is reliable and am guessing that low milage and largish engine may lead to more problems.
Oh, that and the notion of getting a new car is tempting :D
