    Hi,

What do people think of this car? I am considering getting one as a weekend car and to use at events like The Cannonball Run.

I think its a great looking and unusual car.

I was in the US last month driving Route 66 & I had one of these in Black for a chunk of the drive... great car, handled really well & had effortless speed. Mine had the Heads Up Display & that is an option I’d love to have if I was buying one.

I love the colour too… now obviously with thinking of getting a car like that your not a shrinking violet, big yank cars get a lot of attention here (I know I have one) but that car in that colour will pull a big crowd. My brother has a ’78 Camaro done up as a Bumblebee replica & he can’t take it anywhere without being mobbed… seriously kids will run across carparks chasing him.. so you’ll get the same..

    Lets get this right?

Your a motorhead spending a large wad of cash on a weekend car and your biggest concern is the colour

Don't see why it wouldn't be... the colour can make or break a car IMHO

The reason for getting it in this colour is the "bumble bee" thing. I know enough about the car and its performance etc. I kind of want it to be an attraction at the events I attend.

Well that's the car for you so... like I said my brother has a 1978 Camaro done up as a bumblebee replica & gets the biggest crowd around his car when we're at shows, parked up somewhere... on the road etc etc..

Where would you be getting it?

    Importing it yourself or what?

That's fair enough if you know everything else. For some reason I thought you were asking is a yellow car for me.

Personally I think the bumble bee thing has been done enough by people. I've seen a few of them at shows. Don't get me wrong though I'd still like one and they do draw a crowd but I think they will go out of fashion pretty quickly when they stop making the films.

Maybe.. maybe not... General Lee replica's still draw big crowds as do DeLorean's... plus even without the whole Bumblebee thing.. that shape can pull off the yellow & look cool.

But then colour is a personal thing... of the two cars I have in this country ones simply black (as can be seen in the pic) but the other is bright orange (& no sadly it's not a General Lee replica)

Snot Green, Yellow, Red, Black, Orange, Stipes... all great on the Camaro classic or new.

For the sort of money you're talking as a weekend car I would go with a first gen Camaro. Looks better, will appreciate in value where the new one will plummit, VRT exepmt, NCT exempt, €48 p.a. tax as opposed to €1566.

Also I'm not a big fan of the Bumblebee look - it may be cool now but it will be naff in a couple of years time. Just my opinion.

I can think of only 3 cars that still look good and manly in yellow... the Camaro, the Corvette and a Lambourghini. Go for it!

Lovely lookin & would deffo like to have one for a wkend car....
And by the time it's 30 years old I might just be able to afford it!! :D
