World Famous 'Cosmos' series of documentaries to get a sequel

Anybody who is a fan of Cosmos, the documentary series by Carl Sagan, might be interested to know that a sequel is planned. It will be hosted by astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson and will have the involvement of Sagan's widow Anne Druyan, and Steven Soter, who were the co-writers of the original show along with Sagan himself.

Cosmos is far and away the best documentary series I have ever, ever seen. What's everyones thoughts on this? I like Neil DeGrasse Tyson (he's an engaging guy, no Carl Sagan though), and it's good to have the original writers involved. The other thing is that Seth 'Family Guy' McFarlane is involved as co-producer. I can't stand his shows, but I hear he's big into science so...

Perfect person to get to do it. Sagan was his mentor, after all.

Good to hear. The original was a classic and the music from it was even good too.
With this new series, it will be nice to see it in HD and also I hope the original comes out once again on dvd.
