Where is the best place to get a hat cam for the coming season? Something reliable but I don't want to have to sell the house and car to buy it either!

Suggestions?

Dogcam sport,do the best action cams ,the one i looked at is on constant standby and when you hit record it captures up to the previous 30 seconds, ideal for Salmon fly fishing because you can capture the take,or poppering for Bass ,for the same reason.
This feature is what stood out to me,but you may not need this function.

Kodak playsport waterproof camera & the hat cam hats.
Buy spare batteries @ chargers & your set. 1080p HD recording, tough camera. Decent enough software for editing clips.

Decent set up IMO once you get used to it...

This the older model but has removeable batteries. The newer one is built in so you wont get much of a days shooting out of it & it can take a good 5+ hours to get a decent clip...
My advice is get 3 spare batteries & 2 chargers. This way you'd get a saturday morning out of 2 & have 2 charged for after dinner.

Be wary of MaH rating on batteries - the higher the better.

"Milliamp Hour (mAh)
Milliamps Hour (mAh) is important because it's the easiest way to distinguish the strength or capacity of a battery. The higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last. Batteries with different mAh ratings are interchangeable. If your battery is rechargeable then the mAh rating is how long the battery will last per charge.

Milliamps Hour is 1/1000th of a Amp Hour, so a 1000mAh = 1.0Ah Think of a cars gas tank. Voltage is how much gas is being used, and mAh is the size of the gas tank. The bigger the gas tank (mAh) rating the longer the device will run. If your battery is rechargeable, then think of the gas tank as refillable (rechargeable)."

There is a few of us that hunt together and we've been saying it for ages, it will be great to be able to look back and see what way the dogs were hunting and how there patterns changed when they came up on birds etc.

Watch this space!!:D

If we can get a few lads at it we can have an annual best clip competition.
Should be doing it for pics also.
Come on Boards offer incentive for the average Joe who's away from the trialling scene ;)
