    Hello

Me again :P Anyway, my family and I are going to Portugal at the start of next month and I was just wondering if anyone has ever been to a golf course in Albufeira and if so would you recommend it with prices etc. Also, I read on a couple of website that a Handicap Certificate IS required. Would you say there are many that dont require this? Thanks.

In the current economic climate i'd be shocked if you need a certificate anywhere. Appropriate dress should be enough.

Penina would be the only place that may actually ask for it, but only really likely if you show up and ask to play off back sticks.

The O'Connor and the Faldo course.

Was down there in July and said we would play both over the space of a few days and gave us a very good deal. Lovely clubhouse as well.

Thanks alot for the help lads. Another thing Ive been wondering is what are whats the dress code like as at my local course there is only a neat dress code like runners, a shirt and normal trousers are accepted which means I dont have golf clothes and neither do the two that are going to be playing with me.

Am I right in thinking that you're going to the hassle of dragging clubs to Portugal, but getting a pair of golf shoes and a simple polo shirt is too much effort?

    No

Youre wrong in thinking that. Rent golf clubs over there which Ive read is pretty cheap.

Do yourself a favour. Buy a pair of cheap golf shoes and a couple of cheap polo shirts. For the sake of €40 you'll be able to play golf anywhere you like. Call it an investment.

Albuferia is just about 10 miles from villamoura so there's loads of courses around to play especially if you've a car hired.

Search vilamoura and you'll get loads of info.

Bring golf shoes. It's easy hire clubs but shoes can be an issue and would be better to wear ones you're used to if walking for four plus hours.

Handicap Certs aren't usually an issue if you look like a golfer.
