I just picked up Etrian Odyssey from GameStop and I'm looking to start it. I'm a bit lost though about the jobs though. Would I be ok with just using the ones I like or will I get crushed until I use the 'best' ones?

The games a total dungeon crawl. You are probably better off picking a balanced team otherwise you might have some heavy grinding ahead.
