Evening lads, I have searched the boards but nobody has given a definitive answer!

I have a 306 hdi and am heavily involved in diesel tuning, atm it has about 180 hp, which is twice standard but iv been having trouble with insurance.

Many companies will accept suspension mods etc but only quinn can do power mods and thus iv been there for 3 years. However since they have failed epically my insurance went up by 20% and i expect it to go up again!

1300 at 22 and 4yr ncb is my policy which is ok but next year i expect it to rocket which is why i need to find another comapny to take me.

I have tried brokers, brittons etc axa all the usual and they say they cannot insure a power modded car in any way

Is anyone other than Quinn doing it? i may have to sell my baby otherwise as i cant justify it when on standard car i could be paying 500 :pac:

    Is that TPFT?

My insurance was €1900 FC on the FTO.
It went down to €1500 with TPFT last year and, to my surprise, it dropped to €1250 this year.

I rang up and asked was that the best they could do before I shopped around (No one else will insure me either) and they dropped to €1115.
SO it might be worth your while to hang in there and see what happens.

What mods have you done out of interest?

I'm paying 1200 @ 29 with 4 years ncb with an air filter and exhaust with quinn.

It doesn't sound like a bad quote to me (considering its Ireland).

the standard car would cost me 500 euro :( its hard to bargain as NOBODY else will even consider it, i even had hassel with quinn to have it insured

tpft with windscreen it is, was 900 in 2009

Sorry missed your last question, intercooler, custom made turbo etc higher frps all done by me. there is a small group of us pushing the 180-250 hp barrier :D mapping is all done by two people, one in the uk and one in denmark and its a non cost thing as its for the love so no 500 quid mapping bills from a irish company who couldnt map this anyway . . . . . obviously there is more to it but this isnt the place :pac:

I've a 1.8t 180BHP Golf GTI insured with Quinn. Quote went up last year but went down by almost 300e this year (2 years NCB) I would hang on and see what they come back with for the following year.

Nobody else would touch me with that car either and one other company that would wanted 1800e vs the 900e I'm paying with Quinn.

    Best of luck!
