Working out modules and credits for second year

    Hi there,
In first year all my modules were mandatory and I had no choice for them. This year however I'm able to pick and choose and I was just wondering:
If there is one mandatory module per semester and all the others are non-mandatory but I have to get 30 credits in the subject, is it therefore possible to do the one mandatory module in semester one and then load up on modules in semester 2 to make up the 30?
Or am I supposed to evenly spread them?
Also, can I go over the 30 credit mark?
And if I do, what happens to the extra credits I earn?

Thanks for any information you can give!

I don't think it matters what way you do it as long as you end up doing 60 credits worth of modules throughout both semesters. One thing I would warn you though is that doing a lot more modules in one semester than the other will be quite difficult from a workload point of view! With regards going over the 60 credits, I think you have to pay for the extra modules that you do. Obviously that would be if you want to do the exam/assignments for it; if you just want the info, you could just sit in on the lectures and that would be free :)
