Appealing Driving Ban?

Last September I was banned for two years and one day. One year off the road is fast approaching. I am just wondering when I can issue an appeal to restore my license and can it only be restored on the 16th month?

I have found that in the year off the road, I cannot take on work which is far away. I wish to be back on the road as soon as possible but want to do it the proper way and don't want to mess up chances of an appeal.

I know the best way is to talk to a solicitor but I'm just putting feelers out there at the minute before I have to shell out even more money to a solicitor for info I could find freely available.

Google searches turn up the usual and leaves me confused.

    Thanks

you can apply to the courts to get it back after 12 months off the road but you will have to wait 16 months before you can go back on the road if your appeal is successful.

    ^ This.

Its not really an appeal - not to nitpick - but an application for early restoration. Gustafo is correct on the time periods.
