Had to put my German Shepherd down last night (cancer in her stomach)...I'm completely gutted...she was only 4 years old and was my wife's and I first dog........I go home for lunch every day and no dog waiting for me today..........I'm broken hearted....have one other dog, a springer for hunting....was able to train her with the german Shepherd around no bother......had to walk the springer just there and it was awful...it's like she knew too

Ahhh hon - so sorry to hear that. I'll say the usual. You did the right thing by her and helped ease her pain. That's the toughest kind of love. Time will heal you, and your springer will come round too.

Feel your pain mate, nothin easy about it :(

Had to put down my first ever gundog when I crossed her with front wheels of a Matbro, never felt so low in my life. She was only 18 months old and never had a dog since that was a patch on her :(

Same thing happened to me with an outstanding Lab Retreiver that was cut down in his prime in a freak accident on the road. I went through all the stages of shock, disbeleif, grief and depression.:(

PS: I'm dead carefull now with the current crew and road traffic when bringing them out for a spin

Sorry to hear about that mate, I had a Jack Russell cross type dog about 8 years ago, an outstanding dog, done anything for me, it got cancer to and had to be put down, I was gutted for weeks after. We only just got another dog there couple of months ago a Black Lab this time and he dosnt seem half as smart, although early days. Time heals.
