Urgent advice needed for a King Charles in trouble.

My friend has a King Charles which is suffering dreadfully with its ears at the moment, she's had the dog to a local (rural) vets who has the dog on steroids etc. The dog is not showing any signs of improving and friend would like a second opinion on the dogs condition.
Are there any vets in Dublin who specialise in ear problems?
My own dog (SHih Tzu) has eye problems so I know there are specialists in certain fields.
Failing that, can anybody recommend a good Sth city/suburb vet who's used to King Charles' and their problems?
Thanks for any advice on offer.

I can highly recommend http://www.caravetgroup.com/. And as far as I know Syd the vet has a KC too ;)

+1 on Cara Vets, they are pricey but are fantastic and familiar with Cavalier problems. You may need to get a swab taken and the dogs ears shaved to try improve the situation. CKCs are prone to ear issues due to their heavy ears and small ear canals.

You could always contact UCD or ask at Cara Vets (or any vets!) if they can give you the name of, or refer you on to, a veterinary ENT specialist.

Good luck and hope you get to the bottom of it soon :)

Thanks a mill for the fast responses, I've passed on caravets details to my friend so hopefully she'll get her KC sorted!
    Thanks again.:)

If you know any more about the problem let us know. Obviously a vet is the most important advice but there are a few other things that might help.
I know a lady who has a yorkie with really dry, irritated ears and she has spent a fortune on them. She now uses a little almond oil on the inside of the ear when it is very dry.
The diet will need to be looked at also.
Hope the doggy gets some solutions to the problem soon!
