    Hi,

Normally when I plug in my charger the screen gets a bit brighter while the charger is on but since last night when I plug it in the screen dims.

    Anyone have any idea why?

    It's a dell inspiron 15r

    Thanks in advance

To fix it temporarily, when plugged in hold down the Fn and hit the Up-Arrow a few times.

To fix it permanently, right-click on the battery icon in your taskbar's notification area (normally bottom-right corner)

Select power options, and in there you should see a list of power-plans. You can either select a different plan, or modify the plan settings for the plan which is currently selected.

In there, you will see an option for screen brightness for when the laptop is plugged-in or running on batteries.
