Volunteering-SW??

    Hi,
    I am going to Kenya volunteering in Sept for 9wks. I will be teaching English in the slums of Nairobi & really excited. Well I’m volunteering for 6wks and after this will be on a 3wk holiday J. I am doing the volunteering at my own expense. I have 2wks holidays due to me with work but 7wks will be unpaid leave. I’m not winging as I know how lucky I am to have a job and indeed have a job that will let me stay out for 9wks! Question I’m asking is if I would be able to claim SW or anything for the 7wks? I have been working the last 10years & only claimed SW for 2mths when looking for a job about 7yrs ago.
