I'm currently stuck in the Limerick ex-Chorus MMDS region which is served with DVB-T so the standard UPC PRV box is not compatible with it. I'm looking for anything that is compatible with the UPC MMDS service, does any actually exist? I know I could just hook it up to a separate DVD recorder but that's bulky and I'd like something that I can schedule recordings for the middle of the night (the joys of being a US sports fan) and access files easily on a PC.

Actually even something that is like a DVD recorder but just records direct to a hard drive that can site inbetween my UPC box and the TV (SCART out from the UPC box to SCART in on the recorder and SCART out of the recorder into the TV) would suit me fine. Everything I find has a DVD recorder built into it which i just don't need.

Do a search for a Media player/recorder. Some of them have a scart connection.
