hey there i have a little problem ive unlocked/jailbroken a iphone 2g, works just fine, but if i try to put a 3 sim card in it it will not detect the sim works just fine on any other network

Ive been told this is because 3 sim cards arent compatible with older iphones

Is there anyway around this perhaps?

You have to use a 3G capable handset on the Three network.

obviously upgrade your iPhone... if you're on bill pay and have the 2007 2G original iPhone, then surely you're due an upgrade?

Probably bought on adverts/ebay/some other place and not an official 3 phone.

had this problem a couple of years ago, because the iPhone 2g isn't a 3g phone, the 3 network which relies on 3g technology, isn't compatible with 3! its a pain but what ya gonna do with a 3/4 year old phone

Pretty ironic since for the majority of the time you will be on Vodafone's 2G network because once a smart phone gets latched onto 2G it will not come back to 3G on its own unless you either a) toggle Airplane mode b) switch off and on the phone or c) select 3G from network selection on Three.
