    Hi everyone!

Just wondering...is there a website where you can find out who is on the Board of a Secondary, community or comprehensive school?

It doesn't appear to be on the website of schools.

    Thanks a bunch!:)

generally its on the schools website or contact the school but the BOM is there to represent the partners so
    a) If you are a parent contact the parent rep
    b) if you are staff, contact the staff rep
    c) if you are involved with the trustee, contact the trustees rep
    d) anything else, contact the Sec to the BOM i.e. the principal.

    Thanks TheDriver!

But I would have thought that this information would be in the public domain and that any joe soap would have the right to know who is on the Board in any school.

    Is there a confidentiality thing?

Definately not on the school's website...

    Thanks

Oh ya, it's not confidential but some schools just don't get around to putting that stuff up on their websites. We used to have it up and then I think it was taken down, mainly because when it changed no one thought to update it.

the question is why do you want to know who is on the board. In theory, it depends on who you are and that rep brings your stuff to the board, otherwise its the secretary. People change on boards a lot and most schools have crap websites anyway

Don't think it's a confidentiality thing, but just not something that most schools would put up on their website. If somebody wants to post something to all members then they could send it to the school, specifically addressing it "FAO ALL members of BOM, XXX school."

    Thanks Everyone!

Just thought it would look more professional to write a name instead of "The Secretary" on job application. Don't want to phone the school so I'll just write "The Secretary"

    thanks a bunch! :)

no, addressing your application to Secretary of BOM is standard practice.
