Disability allowance appeal- oral hearing?

Just wondering if anyone has had an oral hearing in relation to DA appeal? I am wondering what exactly the hearing entails?

On recommendation from my GP I applied for DA in January 2010 and I received a refusal letter in November 2010 which I appealed and just yesterday when I rang to see what is going on I was told that I will be having an oral hearing with (I think they are called) a deciding officer and that I would receive a letter informing me of this.

I'm nervous incase I forget to tell them something or if I completely mess the hearing up by not being able to explain myself. Would it be acceptable to write everything down and read it out?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm sorry but I can't give you any answers as I'm still waiting to hear when the oral hearing will be! I haven't even been given a date yet! The whole thing is a disgrace. People who are genuinely unwell expected to go through all this rigmarole! I think they are hoping people will just give up!? Please let me know how you get on and good luck for Thur. Stay calm :)
