    Some of you may still be enjoying shooting outdoors in the summer weather but it is now time to plan what you want to shoot during the winter months.
    Please find attached details of the Ulster Counties Winter Pistol Postal Leagues.
    To those of you who regularly support the leagues thank you, for those who have entered in the past but have not done so for a while please have a look at the programme of competitions and we hope you will find something to attract you back again.
    Would you please display the attached details in you club and the Ulster Counties would be delighted to accept your entries for as many competitions as you can manage.

    Pistol Leagues:
    Ulster Counties Small-bore Shooting Association
    NSRA No. 1943
    Winter Pistol Postal Leagues 2011 / 2012
    To Club Captains / Match Secretaries,
    The Ulster Counties will be running Pistol postal leagues during the 2011 / 2012 winter season.
    Entries are invited from clubs and their members for the following Individual & Pairs competitions.
    1. ISSF 10m Air Pistol.
    30 shots per round. Air 4/89 cards. 5 shots per card.
    2. ISSF Standard Pistol.
    30 shots (Half course) per round. PL12 Cards at 20yds or PL7 at 25m. 10 shots per card.
    2 strings of 5 shots in 150, 20 & 10 seconds.
    Any multi-shot .22 rim fire pistol or .177 air pistol may be used.
    3. Precision or Slow fire pistol.
    20 shots per round. PL 15 Cards at 20yds or SPA1 cards at 25m. 10 shots per card.
    Any .22 rim fire pistol or .177 air pistol may be used.
    4. Open Sport Pistol (precision stage).
    30 shots per round. PL12 Cards at 20yds or PL 7 at 25m. 10 shots per card.
    Any .22 rim fire pistol or .177 air pistol may be used.
    5. Center Fire Pistol (precision stage).
    30 shots per round. PL12 Cards at 20yds or PL 7 at 25m. 10 shots per card.
    Any center fire pistol up to .38 may be used.
    6. Lightweight sport rifle.
    20 shots per round. PL14 or PL14/06 Cards at 20yds, 5 shots per card or
    SPA1 cards at 25m, 10 shots per card
    Any .22 rim fire lightweight sport rifle or .177/.22 air rifle may be used.


    The leagues will consist of 10 rounds
    Round 1 and 2 to be shot during November, Round 3 and 4 to be shot during December,
    Round 5 and 6 to be shot during January, Round 7 and 8 to be shot during February
    Round 9 and 10 to be shot during March.


    They will be run on a self-score basis. The club captain or match secretary or other appointed person will score the club’s cards. Only scores should be returned.

    Scores to be submitted by the 10th of the following month or may be recorded as NSR. No extensions of time should be necessary but may be negotiable.

    Scores may be submitted by post or preferably by Email.

    Cards may be shot in advance without restriction.

    Shot cards should be retained until the end of the competition, as random checks may be made.

    Stickers for Individuals only will be issued. No charge will be made for pair entries.

    CALCULATION OF AVERAGES
    Averages for each shooter must be quoted to one decimal place and not rounded to the nearest whole number. They may be based on the same competition in last year’s winter league or calculated as the best five of the last six courses of fire specific to the competition entered.

    Where no average is submitted for a competitor they may be placed in Division 1.
    Competitors whose scores unreasonably exceed their declared averages may be re-classified.

    ENTRY FEES
    £4.00 per individual per competition. Pairs free, subject to individual entry.
    Cheques / Money orders, should be made payable to UC(E)SSA.

    Entries received after the closing date or without the entry fee will not be accepted.
