    Hi there
Ive been reading trough the threads now for a few months now and i think this be the best place to get a few opinions. So here goes.
Iam doing a small job for a friend of friend, when i was filling heating system i noticed that its getting filled incorrectly off the C.W services tank into the flow pipe at coil of cylinder which also has balancing valve incorrectly fitted on the flow. My question is would you suggest correcting these faults. Its just that customer has mentioned that system has worked fine for the last number of years and appears just to want the initial job done. Oh and the combi gas boiler has no outlet pipe fitted from the emergency relief valve. This point will be getting rectified.
    Thanks for reading

Given that it is a gas boiler I would suggest that you leave it alone, the set up will most likely be against manufacturers instructions and the fact the PRV is not connected would suggest a cowboy install. If there is a problem in the future you will be the last man there and if you are not an RGII then you will be in bother.

    I agree with DoneDL.

If its gas, and a botch job installation with no PRV and so on I'd run a mile. Heaven forbid something goes wrong afterwards it'll be you that's held responsible, and if you're not RGII Registered..................

given what the above 2 posts say I agree with that.

Not getting into the details of the gas install I can say I've seen oil and gas installs that are fed into the flow of the coil also and the system works fine. I pipe to the return and expand from the flow and if it was me redoing a lot then I would redo it if it was causing issues - but its not so I wouldn't bother. If I go to a job and theres a problem and I spot that then I would change it to illuminate that fault as its trial and error.
