Ok guys, ill start by saying im not looking for medical advice.Ill give a little insight
Im new to running,3-4 times a week, rowing machine and walking in between,do all the correct warm ups, cool downs, stretching etc.
My longest runs would be 8.5k which i could do in 44-45 mins.
Only prob i get is an odd groin niggle which doesnt give too much hassle while running.
So,an 8k run came up on Sunday gone,so i decided to get my first run under my belt. Now,heres the thing,I got myself a thigh/groin strap, thinking it would help me along.
Ran the race, time was 46:58,after a cock up at the start where everyone took a wrong turn,no marshal. My average pace was about 5:30,so would have done the 8k in approx 44 mins.
Took the strap off after the run, then the probs started. Got groin pains, quad pains, hamstring pains etc. Very uncomfortable to walk on yesterday.Went for a 30 min walk yesterday evening to try shake it,kept the leg up after, had a bath, went to bed.Today theres improvement, but still not right.
My question is,do any of you guys think that this may have been caused by wearing the support strap when it wasnt really needed? Just trying to get to the root of the problem.Cheers in advance guys, sorry for being long winded but wanted to give as much info as possible.

You say you're not looking for medical advice, but then you say 'I have all these problems, what do you think caused them?'
