UK Marshmallow Supply 'Dangerously Low'.

    Latest developments from England.
    A Spokesman for the UK Confectionary Confederation has told our sources that the UK marshmallow supply is running 'dangerously low'. The spokesman said 'we have noticed an upsurge in marshmallow sales in the last few days particularly in London and Birmingham'.

    According to the Spokesman marshmallows have been shipped in from other cities in the UK to keep up with the demand. The price of Marshmallows in London has more than tripled in less than four days leading to accusations of price gouging by sweet shop owners.

    One shopkeeper said 'marshmallows are a better bet than gold in the current climate and we have to raise the prices to reflect the limited supply'. Community leaders have said that the marshmallow shortage is increasing tensions in an already volatile situation. One community leader said 'who doesn't like toasting a marsmallow on the fire?'

    That's why there aren't many police on the streets. They're preparing to airdrop marshmallow over the gangs of youth. Then they realised that their supply of marshmallow is "dangerously low" and released a press statement that lead to the article the OP linked.
