stockbroking career

does having a degree in law create an opening in stockbroking? im dew to finish college this year and im confident of at least a 2.1. ive been considering career options and i feel i am very much motivated by money. stockbroking seems to be a fast way of accumulating wealth but im also aware of the downside. however i think you have more chances of making money as a stockbroker than you would at making money at a racetrack. ive been researching this a bit lately and i discovered that the days are long but the returns can be enormous if you work hard. however i have no understanding of economics or have i ever studied it. would lacking knowledge of economics give me a less of an advantage at becoming a stockbroker or is stockbroking all abouts wits and hardwork?

    thanks in advance

Stockbroking is very much about sales and client relationships. A basic understanding of economics is helpful in order to cultivate those relationships and a more than basic understanding of finance and business is also a necessity.

Depend what the OP means by stockbroking career? It could be sales, back office work or proprietary operations (risk management). I can't see how the first two will make you rich. As for the actual decision making (exposure management, trading and stuff) there is probably some work to be done to get there.

Where are you doing your law degree? Law can be in advantage in Investment Banking - if you have a good enough degree. It usually shows analytical skills, writing skills, logic as well as dedication to research. You're not looking good on any of these.

For starters you seem confused between trading and broking.

    BTW it's "due to finish"

Attention to detail does not seem to be the OP's strong suit - rules out IB off the bat.
