Is capitalism dying?

The global confusion and market turmoil tell us one thing and one thing only. The greedy bastards will never be satisfied; profit is the only motivation world wide; selfishness and egotism are king. People don't matter; money does.
How the hell did this happen - I'm no revolutionary, I believe in moderate financial development and the good that business does. But this has got out of hand. I weep for humanity.

Capitalism is a system where the individual is the most important player - that's why it's the best system we have to date. However in an interdependent world such a system can't help but burn itself out. And that'll be messy and painful but afterwards we should finally be ready for an even better system - one based on the principle of integrated individualism.

Is capitalism dying? I think the real question is are we ready for a more equitable and just system? Unfortunately I don't think we are - not yet - and to be honest I think it will take a series of crises to reach that point. And I'm definitely not suggesting we should do anything to try and bring about such a chaotic climate. Crises are inevitable and when they hit unstable, unbalanced structures can't help but crumble.

I don't know. There's no predicting what's going to happen but I don't weep for humanity - we are slowly approaching our finest hour.
