    Would it be illegal to wear a US State Trooper Hat like this one in Ireland ?

    In my untrained opinion I can't see why it should be, it's not part of any official uniform of this State (Irl) so it's basically just a fancy piece of head wear. You probably could even claim to be a real US Trooper if you want.

    I don't see why it would be illegal, but I'd be keen to see it outlawed on the grounds of taste.

    I agree. It would be the same if you dressed as an Amaericam cop for a fancy dress? You re certainly not trying to impersonate a Guatd so I don t see a problem?
