Lady's Rolex Cellini

Hi, the wife has expressed an interest in having one of these, not terribly fond of the newer ones, but I found this one over at on ebay from a coin seller, who has sold some cellini's before and gotten good feedback, was just wondering what anyone thought. €1,450ish before any import duties. Would I be a fool?

It looks very nice but something which became apparent after watching a video on watches it seems that women prefer quartz movements.

Is your wife familiar with automatics? I would also ask for a picture of the movement.

Sounds a bit pricey to me, for a good deal I would expect to come in at about 800 Euro and for an ok deal up to about 1000Euro and for full price 1400 Euro for a watch like this, even for a full size mans version - the ladies watches are always much cheaper.

Size on these is very small even for a ladies watch, you might want to check out the full size ones as they are usually in between 30mm and 34mm, the ladies are usually <25mm.

As for the fakes, the only fakes I have seen in this type of watch are quartz powered (ladies) there are some handwind mens Cellini fakes but they are not popular and therefore not in the "super-rep" league, ie very easy to spot as a fake from a distance.

Just last night I "won" a Rolex part I have been after for a couple of weeks, the regular price for which is usually around $650, it was "buy it now or best offer" listed at $450, I offered $155 and woke up this morning to find I got it -- sometimes low ball offers work.
