Hi I live in athboy meath and just got a new saorview ready tv. I put an old aerial up on the roof and pointed it at 142 deg as per web info for nearest mast. Put the tv to auto setup and got 8 digi channels and 10 radio but none are working all read test signal ? And no radio came through at all.
There is no amp on the cable at all and I was wondering what I should do, will I get a new aerial and an amp or would an indoor setup do me.

Kippure in Wicklow is listing as your coverage transmitter.
Is the aerial Horizontally mounted? I'm receiving Kippure here with no issues. The test signals are mux 2 which is Ch58 (770 MHz) Future services. All current TV signals are Broadcast on Ch54 (734 MHz). If the aerial is mounted correctly try doing a rescan or even manually scan for CH54.

    Hope this helps.

Also ideally aerial should be a wideband UHF or class C/D UHF aerial.

Post a picture of the aerial.

And no sign of the actual channels on multiplex 1?

Are you sure the aerial isn't actually pointed at Cairn Hill, as its mux 2 would show up 1st on an auto tune?

You wouldn't be the first person to get your aerial back-to-front.
