Canon LCD Repair

Sorry for such a boring thread - but I thought I'd ask, does anyone have any experience fixing a cracked Canon lcd screen?

It's only the glass that cracked (thankfully...I got away with murder on this one!) so I emailed Canon and they gave me a big list of repair places...in the UK. A quick search of the internet revealed that it's a fairly easy problem to fix (order spare part, loosen glue with a hairdryer, remove smashed screen and replace et voila) and that Canon can charge you quite a bit to do all this themselves. Does anyone know if it's worth getting it fixed with Canon right off the bat, or is there any places in Dublin that could do it, and failing that, where's the best place to get parts (and have you done this yourself!?)?

Thanks, and sorry again for the boring thread! it's a Canon T2i btw.

I presume it is the back cover plastic window that is cracked, not the glass on the LCD screen itself as from what you say the LCD is intact?

I do repairs myself so if you are interested PM me for details.
