HDMI Ports - Not working

Hi, I have a Philips 32" LCD TV and I've never had a problem with it until yesterday. I have my Sky box and Dvd player connected through two HDMI connections. I now have picture but no sound on one HDMI port and nothing on the other. When I connect it through the scart connections it works normally. Any ideas what could have happened? Are both connections gone kaput? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is probably highly unlikely seeing as you have sound on one but there is an option in the menu of my tv to turn off certain inputs, any chance someone/kids were messing with the remotes and did something similar?

No sound on either HDMI port. The sound went while I was watching TV so no interference by anyone else here at home. I’ve been through the menu options and I cannot find anything relating to turning on or off the sound settings.

Sorry what I meant was you can turn on/off inputs so they accept no input whatsoever. It might be under tuning or connectivity or something.

Do you have another cable to check if it's the HDMI cable that is damaged?

Tired a number of different cables and have checked all the settings on the TV itself but no joy. I'll have another look at the settings tonight but think I have been through the lot. Cheers for the help with this.

There was a recent post about this , ( about a Philips and a Sony Bluray)

The HDMI control was the issue ( switching it off was the resolve )
