I booked a flight ages ago with Ryanair and just went to check in online and noticed that there is a typo in the christian name. There's an o instead of a p.

Of course I tried to change it online only to find out there would be a charge of £100 for a name change. But I'm not changing a name, just correcting a typo!!!

What if I just leave it as it is? Would it even be noticed? What could happen?!!

Will Ryanair screw me for 100 quid anyway?! :(

I have just done the same thing. For some darn reason only the first two letters of my first and surname are on the booking!!! Their call centre is now closed. To be honest I'm not too optimistic but I'll see what they say first thing tomorrow.

After doing a bit of frantic googling it looks like it's not a big problem to phone them up, explain the typo and they will fix it, no charge! Don't check in until you get it changed.

I also found a few people saying that they didn't bother doing anything about it and travelled with no problems! I'd rather not chance it though.

Let me know how you get on with the call centre in the morning. I tried them earlier but the lines were all busy the couple of times I phoned.

Thanks. Did a bit of a search on here and a little more hopeful now. They should be able to see from my email address what my full name is and that it was a genuine error. Best if luck sorting it yourself. I'll let you know how I get on.

    Sorted! :D

Bit of a palaver though and on hold for ages. You'll need all your info, email address, booking reference, dates etc. And make sure you're ready with the alpha bravo charlie alphabet. Near the end of the convo when she was actually changing the spelling she did say "it's just 1 letter is it?" so I hope it'll be ok for you.

Hope you get it sorted, best of luck. :) Let me know how it goes.

Glad you got it sorted. I haven't been so lucky. Nothing doing with the guy on the phone so he gave me the fax number of the customer service department - not sure what dept he was??? Still haven't heard anything back.

Could turn out to be an expensive holiday!!

Laid it on thick about being a loyal customer, flying this route regularly, twice already this year, with the same people as on this booking! To me it's fairly obvious it was an error, and it's not as if I'm trying to replace one passenger with someone else.

    We'll see....
