    Hey there,

Sorry I looked through the forum and couldn't find an answer to this.

If you've already received this Back to Education allowance (for a postgrad) once before can you apply again for it to do another postgrad?

Hope someone can help! It's not looking like it's possible but just wondering if there are any exceptions.

    It does say there:
'You will not get BTEA if you already have a postgraduate qualification'.

However, given the condition of things at the moment and all the people who need to re-train I thought they may have brought in some changes to that.

    Most likely not..

You must be progressing in qualifications in order to get BTEA. If you already have a postgraduate qualification you cannot progress any further, so you wouldn't qualify.
Masters courses are not covered on the BTEA scheme.
However, there are some part time Masters courses available under the Springboard scheme and you could do this even if you already hold a postgraduate qualification.

Sadly there are no postgrads being offered by Springboard schele in my area (where there are jobs also) so I'm looking at a year of work to save up to do it.

Thanks for your reply though cee_jay, I appreciate it.

Have a look on the Springboard anyway - they are all part time courses, and some may be able to facilitate your training over the internet? If that were the case, and you only had to attend the University a couple of times, it might be worth it. Best of luck with whatever you choose anyway.
