Anybody know what's planned for this? Facebook page says time and place but it seems to be 7-10. Just wondering if it would be worth heading along to or not.

    Cheers.

Heya Radiosurfer :), We only got a google alert this morning about this so we could'nt reply on time. Sorry.

The press launch was great fun. We launched the full week of events as well as the official Brochure celebrating 10 years of Pride in the city.

If you want more information for the week you can get it at www.limerickpride.ie or go to the facebook ... you can also get your hands on the brochure in 31 Thomas st or red ribbon and they are being circulated in a lot of places at the moment.

The festival this year is taking a bit of a different angle towards things.we are trying to make it as fun as possible so there's loads of different things going on... we probably haven't catered to absolutely everyone but we've got a lot covered...

Sorry if the post sounds very PR focused but we really have worked very very hard to make this years festival as good as it can be and we really hope we can let everyone experience the kick of excitement, happiness and love we get out of pride :)

There is also info about Limerick pride in this month's GCN. I'm thinking about going to it myself this weekend.

Is that place on Thomas St a Gay bar always then?..I assume it is as it seems to feature a lot on the events calendar.

Maybe the Limerick LGBT Boardies Beers could be held as an aside to pride?

Yes I'm thinking of going to that Thomas St venue friday night. The main crowd might be at MR Gay Limerick in Dolans, but I'm lazy so think I'll go there. Fridays are 80's/90's and I've never entered the 21st century in terms of music. So I'd certainly appreciate someone to talk to!:)

I'm thinking about going on Saturday to the parade and such but I have never been and have no one to go with. Two pretty big barriers to going along i think.

I've never been to a Parade so am hoping to make this my first,at least to attend. There isn't anyone obviously for me to link up with either but just to be there would be new ground and worthwhile I'm sure. Watch, drink coffee, maybe a beer or wine, will be entertaining.

I know a few of the people that would be involved in organising groups for the parade, so I can put people in touch if they want to PM.

Not sure about Thomas St Tonight - they are hosting the Bear/WOOF night. Though I think that maybe after 11pm.

Maybe an earlier meet-up for all us disconnected boardies? I was thinking maybe round 8 or 9ish either Thomas St or somewhere like Aubars? Handy spot to meet and move from.

    Hey Freiheit,
    A good weekend me thinks!
(Even if I was a bit all over the shop!)
I hope you enjoyed your weekend!
The organisers done a fantastic job organising a full week and pulling it all together!

Yes Kiwi I think well organised and comprehensive.

Did meet a few Dubliners moaning about how poor it was,but they were probably comparing it to the capital, whose population is 10 times as big and probably a far bigger route. In comparison to that smaller cities are probably going to feel a lot less dramatic.

Myles Breen was very good as were some others acts whose names evade me.

Was also nice to see so many very young people, good that they felt able to be true to themselves so young.
