Hitting your partner

Hi I'm posting this to see how my people hit their partners and I want peoples opinions on the following:
I have a male friend who frequently beats his partner,
He might punch her, kick her, slap her and any other thing you can imagine.
Now the thing that shocks me the most is that she allows it.
She hits him back and all that, also she said to me she was the one who hit first when they started going out.
However he's a man and shouldn't hit her,for example one they he punched her twice and slapped her in the face and she doubled over in pain, then she kicked him and threw tea over him,
That was over her just losing a fiver!
    I thought I was in a madhouse,
He shouldn't be hitting her and vice versa.
So what does the rest of ye boardsies think?

He must hit like a pussy otherwise she wouldn't be able to get back up and kick him.

    Domestic violence is wrong.

I don't know what else needs to be said, and unfortunately OP I don't think you're going to get much debate in this thread, just everyone saying basically the same thing.

    This.

Why do you automatically see the man as being the worse in this situation? By the sounds of it they are both as bad as each other.

And what kind of question is that to ask people in the first place?

    Hit my partner?

    Of course not.

Unless of course she's become hysterical, in which case it’s perfectly acceptable to shake them hard by the shoulders and administer a couple of openhanded slaps to the face while shouting “pull yourself together woman, you’re acting hysterical!”

    http://www.deseretnews.com/article/52526/TYSON-SAYS-HE-BOUNCED-EX-WIFE-OFF-WALLS-WITH-HIS-BEST-EVER-PUNCH.html
Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is quoted as saying the best punch he ever threw sent Robin Givens, his wife at the time, bouncing off the walls.

Tyson's description of the incident is contained in a new biography which portrays the fighter as a sadistic thug.Tyson, who has battered Michael Spinks, Larry Holmes and Bonecrusher Smith in posting a career 36-0 mark with 32 KOs, told biographer and one-time friend Jose Torres that he never hit an opponent as hard as he did Givens.

"She really offended me and I went BAM. She flew backwards, hitting every wall in the apartment," Tyson said. "That was the best punch I've ever thrown in my entire life."

:pac: (BTW, I read the book, it does not portray "Tyson as a sadistic thug", it was wrote by a member of his entourage.)

The incident happened right in front of me.
I'm still friends with them because friends stand by each other no matter what,
This has been going on for a few years now,
But through the support of friends they've changed vastly.

    Try Relationship Issues.

Hitting someone you're in a relationship with is always wrong, no matter who does it.
