(Mods, please edit title so that it makes sense.)

After reading recent articles about the ongoing saga at SAAB, I thought of a potential solution that would rescue them from the situation they are in. It is well known of Renault's failed ambition a few years ago to establish itself as a a sort of semi-premium brand. I was thinking, would it not make sense for them to buy up SAAB for a song and integrate them as their luxury divison and maybe pair them with Nissan's Infiniti? Technology could be shared throughout the group, giving SAAB a range of decent V6 petrol and diesel engines and the planned 9-1 could be based on either the Clio or Megane platform.

Carlos Ghosn proved anything is possible when he turned around Nissan in the early 2000's, so maybe he could do the same with SAAB? I know the brand reputation may be tarnished enough as it is, but you only have to look at Chrysler in the US to see how quick progress can be made in regaining trust.
