Hi, I'm just getting a new laptop ready for my sister who's going to China and she needs the laptop to be able to display Chinese characters. How do I get the fonts and everything for the laptop? I don't want her to open a Chinese website only to see feckin' windings and random gibberish symbols... What do I do to make the laptop ready for China?!!!

try opening a chineese web site before you go

depending on which OS / browser you use it should say extra fonts are needed and then you can install them

I forgot to mention I'm using XP. Anyway I sorted it out, it's in control panel and regional settings, there's a box you tick that says something like "Enable support for East Asian languages". I just ticked that and it asked me to insert the XP Disc. I didn't have the disc, but the files needed are available to download online so there was no problem.
