How do you choose subjects in first year Arts?

I'm going into Arts and I've decided three of the four subjects I want to do, but I'm wondering how I confirm that these are what I'm studying if I get accepted onto the course?
Can students just go into all Arts lectures for the first two weeks or something (a friend told me this...)?

Yep there's two weeks at the start for you to go to all the intro lectures. The timetable of the intro lectures is loosely based on the actual timetable for the year too. Think you then finalise your subjects online? Not 100% on that though.

There will be a intro talk by the Arts Secretary..Usually Catherine McCurry on the Saturday before freshers week.. She'll explain everything.. Also, in the post when you confirm your place you'll get a pack explaining everything..

    Don't panic.

    Good Luck in Your results.

Yes you have 2 weeks to decide and you can even change a few weeks after that...

I'm going into final arts...feels like just yesterday I was waiting on my lc results! god those years went quick! I was asking the same sort of question goin into first year! Yeah 2 weeks of all the intro lectures, the first week generall its the same intro lecture repeated for a week then the second week it starts the actual course, easing you in, but you choose online what you want to do and you can change up until the end of october, but they say 2 weeks generally coz after that the real lectures of the course start! Good luck with everything! I know you will love galway! I know I do! (ps if you are not living in student acc, I don't, it can be hard to meet people with all the lectures so give a couple of societies a go, it's one of the best parts of university life! :D) have fun! :D
